The Western Cape Blood Service together with the South African National Blood Service hosted their first ‘1 Day – 1 Nation – 5000 Units of Blood’ campaign in the hopes of collecting 5000 units of blood on Saturday, 13 April 2024 between 09:00 to 16:00. With winter approaching and Ramadan impacting blood collections, the need for blood is great.
We are delighted to share that in the Western Cape we collected 1,042 units of blood of which 210 were from new donors! Nationwide, we collected 6,725 units of life-saving blood, smashing our target together. Thank you to everybody who donated blood on the day.
