The theme this year, ‘Sharing Knowledge, Celebrating Success’ will focus on recent developments and accomplishments in the following categories: transfusion practices and clinical studies; haemovigilance and adverse transfusion reactions; transfusion-transmitted infections; immunohaematology; plasma collections, GMP and Plasma Derived Medicinal Products (PDMPs); donor education, recruitment and retention; apheresis donations and specialised donations, including therapeutic services; donation testing and blood component processing; inventory management, storage, cold chain management and distribution; capacity building and training in blood transfusion services; quality management systems; business management, finance and human resource management; and information systems and record management.
