On 1 March, we launched the Extra Drop initiative, offering you – our valued donors, a unique way to give back. Donors can now choose between receiving their token of appreciation or opting to have R15 donated to a charity in the Western Cape on their behalf.
We’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity of our remarkable blood donors. In just the first month of the launch, over 2,000 donors chose to contribute to the League of Friends of the Blind (LOFOB) and it is continuing as you read this. We aim to support six charities in the Western Cape each year – these charities will be carefully selected by our internal committee based on our criteria.
LOFOB is committed to empowering blind and visually impaired individuals by providing rehabilitation, skills training, employment readiness, and mobility support. By donating your token of appreciation to LOFOB, you’re directly supporting their life-changing efforts, offering hope and opportunities to those with visual disabilities.
Here are what some of our donors shared:

We are excited to see how this initiative continues to grow and make a lasting impact on the lives of those who need it most.
