World Down Syndrome Day is observed on 21 March annually. The date is selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication of the 21st chromosome, which causes this genetic disorder.

As an organisation, we showed our support on Friday, 17 March, by rocking our brightest, boldest and silliest mismatched socks to celebrate the joy of diversity. Staff participated in this challenge and had to share a picture of themselves. The department with the coolest and funkiest picture walked away with a small token of appreciation.

The Learning & Development department was crowned with the coolest and funkiest team picture, and the Marketing & PR team from our Worcester branch came up with the most creative and unique picture.

By wearing our socks, we had the opportunity to support and raise awareness by starting a conversation on what Down Syndrome is. If you would like to join the conversation, click here to read more about it.
