Winter is traditionally a difficult blood collection period, as donors suffer from colds and flu and subsequently cannot donate blood; the stormy weather is also a deterrent, we therefore introduced our sock campaign. In 2020 we launched our winter sock campaign which featured a heart-themed design. In 2021 our Western Cape inspired designs, included guinea fowls, the galaxy, proteas and Table Mountain. Our socks aim to increase awareness about blood donation, as our blood donors proudly wear them.
So, to keep you warm and cosy this winter, our socks are back. Each donor who successfully donates a unit of blood in May, June, July and August will receive a pair of our favourite socks. This year designs represent blood donation. Make sure you get your pair, knowing you made a difference.
