Staying at the cutting edge, advanced features in a recently installed WCBS equipment upgrade are improving turnaround times for blood group typing and identification of unexpected antibodies. The DG Gel system and column agglutination technology (CAT) makes it faster to find suitably matched blood for patients.
The equipment is also used to resolve donor discrepancy queries, identify rare blood types and perform tests for external laboratories, on request.
